ABOUT THE AUTHORPaschal Baute is an organizational psychologist who has been a consultant to more than 50 companies and organizations for over 30 years. He has designed training and leadership assessment programs and also coached and mentored numerous executives and managers. Corporate clients include banks, manufacturing, service industries, law and architecture firms, engineering and electronic firms, sales organizations, city government, military, churches, fire and police departments, construction firms, public schools, and nonprofit organizations. Among his corporate clients have been IBM, Bank One, Donaldson Corporation, Florida Tile, Mason and Hanger, Norfolk Wire and Electronic, Christian Appalachian Project, Federal Corrections Institution, Veterans Hospital, Fayette County Board of Education, Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital, Abbey of Gethsemani, four municipal police departments and the Lexington Fayette UCG Fire Department. He has published The Complete Counselor Tool Kit along with more than 200 handouts for human resource managers, trainers and consultants. He has designed and led many workshops in conflict resolution in diverse settings. He has written a manuscript, Hidden Lions, on the ways that managers and leaders undermine their career success. He is widely known as an effective trainer and presenter. At the University of Kentucky he taught a variety of courses in psychology. Currently, he teaches Business Communication and Leadership courses in the School for Career Development at Midway College, Midway, Ky. He has also led online conferences for the Wayne Oates Institute in Louisville, Ky. His career has spanned the fields of the military, coaching sports, ministry, educational administration, psychotherapy, marriage and family therapy, and consulting and training applying psychology to the work place. He has a rich and diverse background for understanding human relations and organizational dynamics. He has completed and published original research in several fields, including pastoral counseling, psychological assessment, spirituality and forensics. He has served in or with all four branches of the U.S. military, active and reserve, enlisted and commissioned, while receiving letters of recognition of outstanding service from each branch: Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines. He has bachelor's degrees from St. Benedict College and the University of Notre Dame. He earned a Master's degree in Psychology from Loyola University of Chicago and a doctorate in Educational Psychology and Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of Division 14, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology of the American Psychological Association. He has been listed in the regional Who's Who–Life in the Bluegrass, by J. Winston Coleman. He is married to Janette Osborne Mobley for 35 years, and they have three children and three grandchildren.
